A simple, creamy chicken casserole recipe that’s comforting and easy to make!
Creamy Chicken Casserole
Ingredients:
- 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded or cubed
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup frozen mixed vegetables (peas, carrots, corn)
- 1/2 cup chopped onions
- 1/2 cup chopped celery (optional)
- 1 cup crushed crackers or breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp dried thyme or rosemary (optional)
Instructions:
Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Prepare the Mixture: In a large bowl, combine the cream of chicken soup, sour cream, milk, shredded cheddar cheese, garlic powder, and dried herbs if using. Mix well.
Add Chicken and Veggies: Add the cooked chicken, mixed vegetables, onions, and celery (if using). Season with salt and pepper to taste, and stir until everything is evenly coated.
Transfer to Baking Dish: Pour the mixture into a greased 9x13-inch baking dish and spread evenly.
Top with Crushed Crackers: In a separate bowl, mix the crushed crackers or breadcrumbs with the melted butter. Sprinkle this over the top of the casserole.
Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for about 30-35 minutes, or until the casserole is bubbling and the top is golden brown.
Serve: Let it cool for a few minutes, then serve warm. Enjoy!
